Hey, this is a great one! Do those things have parking brakes?

To John:

here is the answer to your question about "road apples":

(if mother nature doesn't dispose them first) :)

TO GN: if the parking brake doesn't work, no problem: the horses do swim and the carriages, being of wood, float! :)

Really great to see a place where the past and present co-exist. The horse and carts seems out of place in the urban setting, but wouldn't a fancy car look out of place in a rural setting?

wow i can't believe it, the subject of this photo does not seem to be a sunset or the ocean!! :) i love your ocean pics, and this is a nice departure. lots of interesting things going on in this shot and nice bright colors.

In Trinidad the carts would be towed by an ox or bison, I don't think the poorer farmers could have afforded horses. Don't see them often any more but I'm sure they're still some in the rural areas. When I was a kid going to school, sometimes a long line of traffic would form behind a farmer driving his cart along the road!
